To provide a writing instrument without cap whose barrel tip opening can be firmly closed with a simple constitution at a low cost, and which can be assembled easily in a short time.
The writing instrument without cap comprises a writing unit 4 having a pen point 5 formed at a tip and slidably housed in the barrel 1 so as to move in and out of the barrel 1 via a tip opening 1a of the barrel 1, an opening closure strip 7 having a slit 7b for inserting and removing the tip to be elastically opened and closed by inserting and removing the pen point 5 moving in and out of the barrel 1 via the opening 1a and formed for closing the opening 1a and arranged at the tip of the barrel 1 in a state in which the slit 7b is opposed to the opening 1a, and a coating strip 8 having a slit coating part 8d formed to cover the slit 7b on the strip 7 and superposed from the tip face side.
