PURPOSE: To provide the X-ray image pickup device by which an image signal with high image quality is obtained by eliminating a dark current stored in a signal charge vertical transfer path of a CCD and eliminating the dark current or other noise component stored in a photodiode of the CCD before radiation of an X-ray.
CONSTITUTION: The X-ray image pickup device having an X-ray source, an X-ray image intensifier, and a solid-state image pickup element is provided with a means 15 generating all sweepout transmission pulses B67 in existence within a generating period of a sweepout transfer pulse control signal 63 among sweepout transfer pulses A61 based on the sweepout transfer pulse control signal 63 and the sweepout transfer pulse A61 and a means 16 generating a sweepout transfer pulse and a ternary pulse based on the sweepout transfer pulse B67(68) and read pulses 65, 66.
