PURPOSE: An yield increasing agent, containing brassinolide as an active constituent and capable of giving yield increasing effect on tuberous crops by treating part of all of the tuberous crops.
CONSTITUTION: An yield increasing agent containing (2α, 3α, 22R, 23R)- tetrahydroxy-24S-methyl-B-homo-7-oxo-5α-cholestan-6-one (brassinolide) expressed by the formula as an active constituent. In use, part or all of the crop bodies (plant bodies) till 5 days before to the day of transplanting or seeding of the tubers. A method for spraying, sprinkling, coating, dipping, etc., is used as the treating method thereof. The brassinolide is normally used by diluting an acetone solution in about 1W1000 ppm concentration preferably to about 10-3W10-5 ppm active constituent concentration with water in the case of sprinkling or dipping treatment.
