Title:
ZINC-COPPER-ALUMINUM ALLOY AND ITS DIE CASTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10324938
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an alloy increased in tensile strength and compressive strength.

It is found that the tensile strength and compressive strength of a zinc alloy can be increased by adding titanium to a zinc-base ally containing -phase as primary phase. This alloy is used for gravity casting, permanent mold casting, or die casting and can be cast into component parts or tools. In a preferred embodiment, 0.01-0.1 wt.% of titanium is added to a zinc-base alloy consisting of, by weight, 3-12% copper, 2-5% aluminum, trace components, and the balance zinc. This alloy shows an unexpected behavior so far unreported.
