A zoom lens apparatus includes: diameter of circle of confusion setting means for setting a focusing state of the background; macro drive amount computing means for computing a drive amount of a macro part based on the output of the diameter of circle of confusion setting means and the aberration data; and focus corrected position computing means for computing the corrected position of a focusing part based on the output of the macro drive amount computing means. The macro part is driven according to the output of the macro drive amount computing means and the focusing part is driven according to the output of the focus corrected position computing means.
