Abstract:
To eliminate the need for complicated control of breaking strength of a cushion layer.SOLUTION: A cylindrical wall part 22 of a retainer 21 houses an air bag and has an air bag opening part 26 in an upper end part. An air bag door 13 is adjacent upward relative to the cylindrical wall part 22. A front door part 27 and a rear door part 31 for opening an air bag opening part 26 are provided side by side in a longitudinal direction at an upper end part of the cylindrical wall part 22. The air bag door 13 has a base material 14 provided with a tear line, a cushion layer 18, and a fabric layer 19. The cushion layer 18 is adhered to each of the base material 14 and the fabric layer 19. A fragile part 41 having pores (needle-stuck flaws) is formed in an area of the cushion layer 18 that is adjacent the air bag opening part 26 and is on both sides of the air bag opening part 26 in an orthogonal direction (a vehicle width direction) to a direction in which the front door part 27 and the rear door part 31 are arranged (the longitudinal direction).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
