Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict an erroneous determination that an air bypass valve is normal due to pulsation of intake pressure at a downstream side of a compressor when surging occurs at air bypass valve trouble diagnosis for an engine with a turbo supercharger.SOLUTION: A air bypass valve trouble diagnosis for an engine with a turbo supercharger comprises: trouble determination means 54 for receiving an output of compressor downstream pressure detection means 34 when an air bypass valve 43 is controlled for its valve opening, determining whether the compressor downstream pressure is kept in an irregular pressure state, equal to or more than a predetermined pressure determination threshold, or in a normal pressure state, less than the predetermined pressure determination threshold, and when there is a strong tendency of the irregular pressure state, determining that the air bypass valve operation is troubled; surging related signal detection means 38 for detecting a signal related to occurrence of surging of the compressor; surging determination means 45 for determining the occurrence of the surging; and normal pressure state determination limiting means 50 for limiting reflection of a result of the determination of the normal pressure state by the trouble determination means 54 when it is determined that surging occurs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
