Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery that effectively prevents increase of contact resistance or contact failure or the like between the safety valve and the battery lid, and is capable of outputting stably normal current and voltage. SOLUTION: The battery is equipped with a wound electrode body 1 that is a generating element having an electromotive force, a battery can 2 that has an opening on one side and houses a wound electrode body 1 inside, a battery lid 3 that has a flat face at the periphery and has a protrusion 100 on the flat face or at the outer circumference end (outer circumference edge 32) and is used as a lid for covering the opening of the battery can 2 by being fitted on it and also used as a terminal for connecting electrically to the outside, a safety valve 4 that has a flat face at least at the periphery and is arranged so as to contact with the protrusion 100 that is provided on the battery lid 3 by being opposed to the flat face of the battery lid 3 with its flat face, and a gasket 5 of electrical insulation.
