Abstract:
To provide a constitution relating to a pedal of a bicycle and being capable of separately utilizing a force exerted to move a weight on a heel and a force exerted to kick with a toe and utilizing a force further effectively.SOLUTION: In a bicycle that rotates or drives a drive shaft of a rear wheel by transmitting a force, which is exerted by depressing a pedal with a foot, via a chain, and advances the rear wheel, a pedal rotation shaft is disposed at two points, which are a forward point near a toe and a backward point near a heel, on a body frame. Chain wheels having the same number of teeth are included separately from a chain wheel, which rotates the drive shaft of the rear wheel, so that the rotation shafts at the two points can rotate at the same number of rotations. A chain is hung between the chain wheels having the same number of teeth so that the phase of a forward crank lags behind the phase of a backward crank. The length of the forward crank is made larger than that of the backward crank. A pedal plate on which a foot is placed is disposed at the tip of each of the forward and backward cranks.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
