Abstract:
To provide a vehicle body upper part structure in which a region on the front end side of a roof is easily displaced downward in a head-on collision.SOLUTION: A vehicle body upper part structure 1 comprises a roof panel 2 constituting a vehicle body upper part, and a header panel 3 arranged inside a passenger compartment 1R of the roof panel 2. The header panel 3 comprises a body part 30 arranged to face the roof panel 2, and a front wall part 31 and a rear wall part 32 extending respectively from the ends of the body part 30 in a vehicle longitudinal direction toward the roof panel 2 side. The rigidity of the front wall part 31 against an external force from an upper direction is smaller than the rigidity of a portion other than the front wall part 31 in the header panel 3. The front wall part 31 easily buckles downward when it receives an external force from the upper direction. As a result, a region on the front end side of the roof 10 can be displaced downward, thereby reducing a force acting on a pedestrian 100.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A
