Abstract:
To provide a coated cutting tool which has excellent wear resistance and defect resistance, and therefore, can elongate a tool life.SOLUTION: A coated cutting tool 6 comprises a base material 1, and a coating layer 5 formed on a surface of the base material 1, and the coating layer 5 includes a lower layer 2 and an upper layer 3 in this order toward a surface side of the coating layer 5 from the base material 1 side. The lower layer 2 contains a Ti compound layer of one layer or two or more layers, the upper layer 3 contains α type Al2O3 layer, an average thickness of the lower layer 2 is 2.0 μm or more and 15.0 μm or less, and an average thickness of the upper layer 3 is 3.5 μm or more and 15.0 μm or less. In the upper layer 3, a ratio of a length of Σ3 grain boundary to a total length 100% of all grain boundaries is more than 50% and 80% or less, and a ratio of the length Σ3 grain boundary to a total length 100% of CSL grain boundaries is 70% or more. In the upper layer 3, a tissue coefficient TC (0,0,12) of the α type Al2O3 layer is 8.0 or more and 8.9 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
