PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter substrate with an optical functional layer, which can suppress leakage of light to an adjoining colored part due to spreading of light projected from a backlight part and can suppress generation of parallax or color mixing in display when the color filter substrate is used in a liquid crystal display device.SOLUTION: The color filter substrate with an optical functional layer includes: a transparent substrate; a color filter substrate having a plurality of colored parts patterned and disposed on the transparent substrate; a UV-curable adhesive layer disposed on a surface of the color filter substrate where the colored part is present; an optical functional layer having a retardation layer in which a liquid crystal material is fixed, disposed on the color filter substrate via the UV-curable adhesive layer; and an upper light-shielding part disposed in a region that overlaps a boundary region of the plurality of colored parts in a plan view, on an opposite surface of the optical functional layer to the UV-curable adhesive layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
