Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to obtain suitable original reading results without consciousness of combination of skew correction and other function or setting, when reading a skewed original.SOLUTION: In an original reader where reading means reads the image of an original, a calculated skew amount and a specific threshold level to be compared for determining whether to execute skew correction are set based on a function mode for specifying whether or not skew correction is performed for an original read by the reading means, and when the specific threshold level thus set is not exceeded, skew correction processing is performed for the image data of the original read by the reading means. Meanwhile, when the skew amount calculated from the original exceeds the specific threshold level thus set, control is made not to execute skew correction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
