Abstract:
In the prior art, there have been devices that set reference values for the caloric consumption of a user by stair-walking, hill-climbing or running, and that calculate caloric consumption corresponding to stair-walking if it is determined that a user is stair-walking due to a user switch operation or the like; however, it is troublesome for users to perform a switch operation while exercising. Provided is a path shape determination device that is equipped with: a pattern acquisition unit that acquires the movement pattern of the legs of a user who is walking or running; and a path shape determination unit that determines the shape of the path that is being walked or run by the user on the basis of the movement pattern acquired by the pattern acquisition unit.
