Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a water and oil repellent having excellent washing durability by adding a specific blocked isocyanate to a quadripolymer containing perfluoroalkyl group and active hydrogen group.
CONSTITUTION: A water and oil repellent is produced by mixing (A) a latex of a copolymer having perfluoroalkyl group and active hydrogen group, e.g. a quadripolymer composed of perfluoroalkylethyl acrylate-vinylidene chloride- benzyl methacrylate-2-hydroxyethyl acrylate (as active hydrogen group) with (B) an aqueous dispersion of a blocked isocyanate comprising a polymethylene polyphenyl polyisocyanate (methylethylketoxy perfluoroalkyl ethanol) block compound of formula [X1 to X3 are ON=CR1R2 group or substituents consisting of the above group and O(CH2CH2)mRf group mixed at an equivalent ratio of 1-5; R1 and R2 are H or lower alkyl; Rf is 4-18C fluorocarbon group; (n) is 0, etc.; (m) is 1-4]. Cloth treated with the agent has excellent washing durability and is highly resistant to yellowing.
