Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door latch device for a vehicle which can improve anti-theft performance by making it impossible to illegally access an emergency release lever.SOLUTION: In a door latch device 1 for a vehicle which includes a fork engageable and disengageable with a striker which is installed to a vehicle body or a door, a latch mechanism 2 which is provided with a claw engaged with the fork to be movable between a locking position maintaining an engagement state of the fork and the striker and an opening position releasing the engagement, and an emergency release lever 5 which can move the claw to the opening position by direct operation from the outside, an anti-theft cover 27 is installed which covers the emergency release lever 5, an opening 27A facing a manual operation part 5A of the emergency release lever 5 is formed in the anti-theft cover 27, and the opening 27A is covered with an openable and closable lid 29.
