Abstract:
To improve a fuel synthesis efficiency in an energy conversion system for synthesizing hydrocarbons from H2 and CO by generating H2 and CO by electrolysing H2O and CO2.SOLUTION: In a cathode electrode 12 of a fuel synthesizer 10, a H2O electrolysis reaction, a CO2 electrolysis reaction, and a fuel synthesis reaction occur. In the cathode electrode, a plurality of kinds of catalysts containing a H2O electrolysis catalyst, a CO2 electrolysis catalyst, and a fuel synthesis catalyst are provided. For every site of an upstream part 12a, a middle stream part 12b and down-stream parts 12c, 12d of the cathode electrode, a ratio of the CO2 electrolysis catalyst, H2O electrolysis catalyst and fuel synthesis catalyst contained in the plurality of kinds catalysts are different respectively. In the upstream part, the number of moles of CO is the largest in a reaction product. In the middle stream part, the number of moles of H2 is the largest in the reaction product. In the down-stream part, the number of moles of hydrocarbons is the largest in the reaction product.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
