Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an engine, capable of reliably avoiding preignition.SOLUTION: The control device for an engine (1), using a tumble flow (T) for controlling the behavior of fuel injected directly into a combustion chamber (16) in a cylinder (21), includes an injector (28) for injecting the fuel directly into the combustion chamber, an intake port (18) for creating the tumble flow in the combustion chamber, a vibration sensor (74) for detecting the occurrence of preignition showing that mixture self-ignites before an ignition timing for the cylinder, and an ECU (44) for, when the vibration sensor detects the preignition, allowing the injector to inject the fuel at an intake stroke first-half injection timing set in the first half of an intake stroke of the cylinder and at a compression stroke injection timing set in a compression stroke of the cylinder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
