Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact alkaline primary battery capable of ensuring a required discharge capacity, by using a high density positive electrode mixture pellet excellent in impregnation.SOLUTION: In a flat alkaline primary battery 1 where a positive electrode 5, a negative electrode 7, a separator 6 and an electrolyte composed of an alkaline aqueous solution are housed in a container consisting of a positive electrode can 2, a negative electrode can 4 and a gasket 3, the positive electrode 5 contains silver oxide, manganese dioxide, and graphite, and is formed into pellets having a density of 5.7 g/cmor more, where the total compounding ratio of silver oxide and manganese dioxide to the entire positive electrode is 95 wt% or more of the entire positive electrode, and the compounding ratio of manganese dioxide to the entire positive electrode is 2-5 wt%.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
