Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide flow alignment devices to improve diffuser performance.SOLUTION: There is provided a turbine shroud 50 for an axial turbine, the shroud 50 including: an annular array of arch shaped shroud segments each configured to be mounted on an inner surface of a turbine casing 48, the segment having an arched seal surface 56 aligned with tips 42 of a last row of turbine buckets 26 in the turbine, and vanes 64 positioned on an inner surface of each of the shroud segments and downstream in a direction of a gas flow through the last row, the vanes 64 extending inward from the inner surface towards an axis of the turbine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
