Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device of an internal combustion engine, by which stable combustion can be obtained by inhibiting misfire of initial flame caused by an air flow flowing in a combustion chamber.SOLUTION: An ignition device 10 of an internal combustion engine for igniting a mixture in a combustion chamber 18, comprises a first spark plug 20 arranged at a top face central part of the combustion chamber 18, and a second spark plug 22 which is arranged at the top face central part of the combustion chamber 18 and on a downstream side of an air flow flowing in the combustion chamber 18 with respect to the first spark plug 20. The second spark plug 22 starts electric discharge after the first spark plug 20 starts electric discharge, and a delay time T1 from the start of electric discharge of the first spark plug 20 to the start of electric discharge of the second spark plug 22 is determined according to the velocity of the air flow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
