Abstract:
A sensor information acquisition unit acquires information indicating a position and an orientation of a probe that generates an ultrasonic wave and receives a reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave. A cross-sectional image generation unit generates a cross-sectional image indicating at least a part of a cross-sectional surface of a subject by arranging and synthesizing a plurality of ultrasonic images, which are based on the reflected wave received by the probe at a plurality of positions around the subject, based on the position and the orientation of the probe when the probe generates the ultrasonic wave and receives the reflected wave. The present technique is applicable to, for example, an ultrasonic inspection apparatus.
