Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device that enables a user to easily remove a document from a document platen.SOLUTION: An image reading device comprises: a document platen including a first surface on which a document is placed and a second surface of an opposite side of the first surface; reading means that reads the document placed on the first surface from a second surface side; and a frame that is arranged with respect to one side of the four sides forming the periphery of the first surface. A side face of the frame is arranged opposite to a side face of the document platen, and a first area continuing from the side face of the frame on a top face of the frame is formed of a surface that is inclined downward from a position higher than the first surface to a position on a lower side of the first surface on the side face of the document platen. A corner part of the frame that is a position at which the top face of the frame and the side face of the frame intersect with each other is chamfered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
