PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for enabling display for easily retrieving a region of attention selected from a plurality of regions of interest such as lesion sites, from a target picture.SOLUTION: A picture processing apparatus comprises: region acquisition means for acquiring a plurality of regions of interest; selection means for selecting at least one region of interest from the plurality of regions of interest to take the region as a region of attention; picture acquisition means for acquiring a medical picture; display control means for making positions of the acquired plurality of regions of interest be displayed and making existence regions, at which the medical picture's correspondence regions corresponding to the acquired plurality of regions of interest may exist, be displayed on the medical picture; and change means for changing a display mode for positions of regions of interest other than the region of attention and a display mode for the existence regions corresponding to the regions of interest other than the region of attention, by using different methods depending on the selection.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
