Abstract:
A novel liquid crystal composition is disclosed. The composition comprises at least one liquid crystal and at least one compound represented by a formula (1), wherein R1 and R2 respectively represent an optionally substituted aryl group and optionally substituted heteroaryl group; R7 and R8 respectively represent an optionally substituted aryl group; R3, R4, R5 and R6 respectively represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent. A novel liquid crystal device comprising a pair of substrates and the composition disposed between them is also disclosed.
