Abstract:
To provide a main spindle capable of revealing rigidity equal to an object constituted of only steel while using fiber reinforced plastic.SOLUTION: A main spindle 1 of a hollow and cylindrical machine tool has a part formed by including cylindrical first metal layers Fs1, Rs1 and first fiber reinforced plastic layers Fr, Rr of at least one layer respectively laminated in the radial direction. The first metal layers Fs1, Rs1 in at least its one layer is formed on the outside more than the first fiber reinforced plastic layers Fr, Rr in the radial direction. The first metal layers Fs1, Rs1, in a cross-section orthogonal to the central axis, have a cross-sectional area of 40%-90% to the cross-sectional areas of totaling the first metal layers Fs1, Rs1 and the first fiber reinforced plastic layers Fr, Rr.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
