PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily removing a manganese component from a manganese-containing iron molten metal.SOLUTION: A molten metal container 3 constituted in such a manner that the bottom part is provided with a porous plug 34, and a gas can be fed to a molten metal stored at the inside is fed with an oxygen-containing gas from the porous plug 34 to the manganese-containing iron molten metal in a state where a manganese-containing iron molten state is stored, and manganese in the manganese-containing iron molten metal is selectively oxidized away.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
