Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling impurities in a step of producing acetic acid by a catalytic reaction of methanol and carbon monoxide.SOLUTION: A carbonylation method for producing acetic acid includes: separating a vapor product stream 122 from a carbonylation reactor 104; producing a crude acid product containing acetic acid containing lithium cation; bringing the crude acid product into contact with a cation exchanger in an acid form in a first treatment apparatus to produce an intermediate acetic acid product; and bringing the intermediate acetic acid product into contact with an ion exchange resin which has an acid cation exchange portion and is exchanged with metal in a second treatment apparatus to produce purified acetic acid. In a method for producing acetic acid, a plurality of sampling port treatment apparatuses are provided having a first opening flow channel and a second flow channel containing a porous member, for managing impurities.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
