Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass sheet without affecting a shearing place of edge of the glass sheet by vibration.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a glass sheet comprises the steps of: dividing a moving glass sheet 705 using a non-mark-off divider 702 including a division mechanism for forming a stress profile causing cracks at a predetermined position in the moving glass sheet in the moving glass sheet to shear and divide the edge of the moving glass sheet from the moving glass sheet; and stabilizing the glass sheet on both surfaces at an upstream position from a position having cracks of the moving glass sheet caused by the non-mark-off divider. The stabilizing step and the dividing step are performed in the traveling direction so as to sandwich the position having the caused cracks and be adjacent to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
