Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monofilament for a filter medium, which is excellent in an antifouling property and durability, and can be used for a long term.SOLUTION: The monofilament for a filter medium comprises polyester as a main component and a polyoxyalkylene-based polyether, where the polyether is water-soluble. Further, it is preferable that the polyoxyalkylene-based polyether is polyethylene glycol, a molecular weight of the polyether is in a range of 4000 to 100000, and the polyester is polyethylene terephthalate. Furthermore, it is preferable that an intrinsic viscosity of the monofilament is in a range of 0.6 to 1.2, a diameter of the monofilament is 0.05 to 3 mm, the filament medium is a fabric, and the filter medium is a substrate for a paper machine or a filter for a sludge treatment. Also provided is a method for producing a monofilament for a filter medium comprising spinning and drawing a polyester to which a water-soluble polyoxyalkylene-based polyether is added.SELECTED DRAWING: None
