Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of obtaining a pulverized electrophotographic toner having high circularity with sufficient productivity even when a batch type surface modification apparatus is used.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a pulverized electrophotographic toner comprises: the step 1 of melting and mixing a raw material including a binder resin and a colorant; the step 2 of pulverizing the mixture obtained in the step 1 to obtain a coarse pulverized product; the step 3 of finely pulverizing the coarse pulverized product obtained in the step 2 in the presence of inorganic fine particles; the step of 4 of classifying the fine pulverized product obtained in the step 3; and the step 5 of surface-modifying the classified product obtained in the step 4. In the surface-modification treatment step, a batch type surface modification apparatus is used. In the step 5, the surface modification and classification treatments are repeated by introducing the classified product into a first space to perform classification treatment after introducing the classified product obtained in the step 4 into a second space to perform surface modification treatment and introducing the classified product into the second space again to circulate it between the first and second spaces.SELECTED DRAWING: None
