Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium recognition device and a medium recognition method, capable of reducing an arithmetic load, thereby restraining increase in cost.SOLUTION: A data processing part 60 of a medium recognition device 10, includes: a projection formation part 630 that forms a projection of a pixel value by luminance projection to each of a horizontal axis and a vertical axis of a processing target image; an end part detection part 640 that determines both end points of a trapezoidal pattern of a projection wave form in each of the projection to the horizontal axis and the projection to vertical axis; an evaluation value acquisition part 650 that calculates an interval W of both end points of the trapezoidal pattern of the projection wave form in regards to the horizontal axis and an interval H of both end points of the trapezoidal pattern in regards to the vertical axis, and acquires a predetermined evaluation value by using the data, and the width and the height of a target medium; and a rotation angle determination part 660 that searches a reference table RTBL which is previously set for an angle corresponded to the evaluation value as a key of the evaluation value, and sets the angle to a rotation angel of the medium on the basis of a search outcome.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
