Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise of an image.SOLUTION: Only for the high luminance part of an inputted original image and the periphery thereof, a correlation value representing the correlation of the pixel value of an original image and the pixel value after moving each pixel value by a predetermined travel in a predetermined direction is calculated for each travel. Based on the correlation value, an estimation noise image representing the noise estimated superposing the original image is generated, and then a noise reduction image is generated by reducing the noise of the original image, based on the original image and estimation noise image.
