Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a heat accumulator of improved latent weir type in which a temperature laminated boundary surface formed in a boundary surface between a cool water layer and a hot water layer can be maintained in good condition by a method wherein an opening area of a communication port is designed to be variable, so that a flow speed of water flowing out of the communication port may be decreased.
CONSTITUTION: A heat accumulator 20 having a water inlet at one end and a water outlet at the other end is partitioned vertically by partitions 26A, 26B..., each having a communication port 24A, 24B... at a water level in the heat accumulator 20, to form a plurality of water vessels 28A, 28B, 28C... Latent weirs 30A, 30B... are provided in the vicinity of one side of each of the partitions. Further, slide plates 34A, 34B... are provided in each of the partitions 26A and 26B..., so that an opening area of the communication port may be variable. By this, as the opening area of the communication port 24A, 24B... varies in accordance with a flow speed of water, the flow speed of water flowing out of the communication ports 24A, 24B... can be decreased.
