Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately predict function performance even in the case of an object having a complicated shape and large-scale design information.SOLUTION: An approximation model storage unit 13 stores therein approximation models for computing an aerodynamic performance value from feature quantities, per category. A feature quantity extraction unit 60 extracts feature quantities from shape data of a vehicle designed by a designer terminal 9. An approximation model application unit 70 computes the probability that the designed vehicle belongs to each category, on the basis of the feature quantities extracted by the feature quantity extraction unit 60 and selects an approximation model for use on the basis of computed probabilities. The approximation model application unit 70 reads the selected approximation model from the approximation model storage unit 13 and uses the read approximation model to compute an aerodynamic performance value from the feature quantities extracted by the feature quantity extraction unit 60.
