To provide a photocatalyst-coating liquid that gives a thin photocatalyst film having a high photocatalytic activity under irradiation of light, especially of ultraviolet light and visible light, and excellent in transparency and uniformity, and to provide the thin photocatalyst film.
The photocatalyst-coating liquid includes a photocatalyst and a polyacid compound, and the thin photocatalyst film is comprised of a photocatalyst and a polyacid compound, and is formed on a base body, wherein the photocatalyst-coating liquid may contain 1.0-100 mass% of a binder component comprised of a water-soluble titanium compound to the photocatalyst, and the thin photocatalyst film may further have a binder comprised of an amorphous titanium oxide-based material.
