Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To contribute to reduction in useless signaling when user equipment (UE) moves between cells in a C/U-plane split scenario.SOLUTION: A source master eNB (S-MeNB) transmits a first message on a handover request to a target MeNB (T-MeNB). The first message includes an address of a secondary eNB (SeNB) and a UE identifier provided by the SeNB. The first message further includes at least one of a security key of the SeNB, an identifier of an E-RAB of the SeNB, a QoS parameter of the E-RAB, and S1 GTP tunnel endpoint information. The S-MeNB receives a first response from the T-MeNB after transmission of the first message, and transmits a second message on RRC connection reconfiguration to user equipment (UE) for handover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
