Abstract:
To provide a reader that has a first reading sensor and a second reading sensor, can read both sides of a document, and can be reduced in size in a direction along a conveyance direction.SOLUTION: In a multi-functional machine having an ADF 5 mounted thereon, a reader is provided with: a document tray 33; an ejection tray 34 that is located above the document tray 33; a conveyance path 151 that connects the document tray 33 and the ejection tray 34 to each other and has a bent portion 54 bent from a lower part toward an upper part; a conveying mechanism 16 that conveys a document 12 in a conveyance direction 17; a first CIS 85 that is located upstream of the bent portion 54 and reads a first surface 51 directed downward of the document 12 placed on the document tray 33 from below the conveyance path 151; and a second CIS 95 that is located upstream of the first CIS 85 in the conveyance direction 17, and reads a second surface 52 directed upward of the document 12 placed on the document tray 33 from above the conveyance path 151.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
