Abstract:
To provide a road sign recognition device that, even when a road sign cannot be recognized from an image obtained by capturing in front of a vehicle, can suppress inability to determine a road sign corresponding to a current location.SOLUTION: A road sign recognition device comprises: an imaging unit 2 that captures in front of a vehicle 1; a notification unit 3 that notifies a driver of each kind of information; a map information management unit 5 that manages static information or dynamic information to be acquired from a server device, a road-side communication device, or the like via a communication unit 4; and a control unit 6 that, when the recognized road sign is consistent with a road sign of map information stored in the map information management unit 5 upon recognizing the road sign from the image captured by the imaging unit 2, sets High to a reliability degree of the map information stored in the map information management unit 5, holds the reliability degree until the reliability degree is next determined, and when the reliability degree stands High, determines the road sign of the map information stored in the map information management unit 5 as the road sign corresponding to the current location.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
