Abstract:
To stabilize the altitude of a sternum clip in the state of combining the sternums by increasing a contact area of the sternum clip in the state of combining the sternums with the sternums.SOLUTION: The sternum clip comprises: a pair of hooks 12 which are formed by curving both of the ends of a rod-like body made of shape memory alloy and are capable of locking and grasping the sternums so as to hold the sternums cut off rightward and leftward by an open chest surgery, in a combined state; and a ring-shaped ring 13 which is provided between the hooks 12 and combines the hooks 12 in a manner where the clearance between them is adjustable, while the hooks 12 are separated from each other. When the ring 13 reaches a shape restoration temperature or higher while the cut off sternums are grasped by the hooks 12, the ring shape of the ring 13 restores a stored shape to shorten the clearance between the hooks 12, which combines the cut off sternums. The hooks 12 to be in contact with the sternums in the state of combining the sternums comprises an area increase part for increasing the contact area with the sternums.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
