PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for a seat backside which is prevented from oscillation even if an occupant lands the hand on the material when boarding on a vehicle, and prevented from coming off from the body of the occupant carelessly at a collison, and further protrudes at a stable angle when equipped with an airbag, so as to contribute to improvement in safety and improvement in quality.SOLUTION: A base material 1 for a seat backside covers an outer surface of a resin base material to be fixed to a body 7 with a pad 4 and a skin 5, and is arranged outside in a vehicle width direction relative to a seat back 92 at a standing position of a rear seat 90. The base material 1 comprises a plate piece-like protruding part 3 which is formed to expand toward a main body part 2 so that a plate piece surface 34a of a tip part 34, which extends outward from a main body part 2 more than an outer part 24 outside in the vehicle width direction constituting the main body part, snuggles against a base end side toward a tip edge side of a flange surface PT of a flange part 72a expanding toward a peripheral edge part of the body 7, where when fastening the flange part 72a with a weather strip 96, the tip end part 34 of the protruding part 3 snuggling against the flange surface PT can be fastened together with the flange part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
