Abstract:
To provide an undercover which can make compatible both the protection of a vehicle from a road face, and the protection of a pedestrian from a vehicle front face collision.SOLUTION: An undercover 10 has a protrusive shape part 13 which is protrusively curved or bent to a side opposite to a vehicle 100, and a rib 20 is arranged at a cover outside face 10b of the undercover 10 while extending to a vehicle longitudinal direction. Therefore, at a road face input, compression force acts on the cover outside face 10b of the undercover 10, and the rib 20 is compressed. On the other hand, at a collision with a pedestrian, tensile force acts on the cover outside face 10b of the undercover 10, and the rib 20 is tensed. Here, a fragile part 21 is arranged at a part of the rib 20 in an extension direction. By this constitution, at the collision with the pedestrian, the rib 20 starts to be cracked with the fragile part 21 as a starting point, thus lowering rigidity, and a load necessary for the deformation (breakage) of the undercover 10 can be thereby set small at the collision with the pedestrian compared with the case of the road face input.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
