Abstract:
To reduce a possibility that unnecessary vehicle control is executed due to the false recognition of a stationary object, in position estimation processing (dead reckoning) of estimating the position, with respect to a vehicle, of an object which an object sensor has no longer detected.SOLUTION: When an object which an object sensor detected is no longer detected, a control unit executes position estimation processing of estimating an object position at and after a time point when the object is no longer detected by the object sensor. While the control unit is executing the position estimation processing at an OFF time point when the ignition of a vehicle is changed from an ON state to an OFF state, if the object is a stationary object, the control unit stores the object position of the stationary object at the OFF time point and the current position of the vehicle at the OFF time point. At an ON time point when the ignition is changed from the OFF state to the ON state, in a case where it is determined that the vehicle is moved within a period from the OFF time point to the ON time point, the control unit does not estimate the object position of the stationary object by the position estimation processing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
