Abstract:
To provide a walking support device which can perform training of both arm swing walking that is walking while correctly swinging arms as the legs move and hand-pushing walking that is walking by pushing equipment with both hands without swinging the arms, and can appropriately convert a direction of a handle a user grips into an appropriate direction during the arm swing walking and during the hand-pushing walking respectively.SOLUTION: A walking support device has: a frame 50; a plurality of wheels; and a pair of left and right handles 20R, 20L which is gripped by a user and movable in a back and forth direction of the frame. The respective handles have: direction variable mechanisms 80R, 80L which can change from a hand-pushing support state along a first prescribed direction to an arm swing support state along a second prescribed direction different from the first prescribed direction and from the arm swing support state to the hand-pushing support state; a hand-pushing supporting state holding mechanism which holds the handles in the hand-pushing support state; and an arm swing support state which holds the handles in the arm swing support state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
