To provide a water heater which has the advantage in completing a sterilization operation at finish scheduled time, irrespective of presence/absence of the execution of function operations other than the sterilization operation.SOLUTION: A water heater device 35 includes: a bath circulation pump 29 for circulating water in a bath circulation flow passage connected to a bathtub 30; UV generation means for radiating ultraviolet light to the water in the bath circulation flow passage; and control means capable of executing a sterilization operation for radiating ultraviolet light by the UV generation means while circulating the water in the bath circulation flow passage, and other function operations which are operations for allowing the water in the bath circulation flow passage to flow for purposes other than the sterilization operation. The control means determines presence/absence of the execution of the function operations other than the sterilization operation in execution, at the time point prior to the finish scheduled time of the sterilization operation, adjusts the sterilization capacity of the sterilization operation according to the presence/absence of the other function operations, and finishes the sterilization operation when the finish schedule time comes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
