Abstract:
Achieved is an AC electric motor control device that is capable of suppressing an electric current harmonic component which flows through an AC electric motor and reducing loss which occurs in the AC electric motor. An AC electric motor control device 10 comprises: a power converter 3 that converts DC power into AC power; and a control unit 2 that performs synchronous PWM control on an AC electric motor 1. The control unit 2 has a carrier wave generation unit 221, 231, 232 which generates carrier waves and a PWM pulse generation unit 22, 23 which generates a PWM pulse on the basis of the carrier wave and a voltage command value 21A. The carrier wave generation unit 221, 231, 232 changes the cycles of the carrier waves such that harmonic components in dq Cartesian coordinates of the AC electric motor 1 included in the PWM pulse are concentrated on one of the d axis side and the q axis side where inductance is greater than the other.
