Abstract:
A polymerizable monomer which, when used in a dental material, can increase the mechanical strength of the dental material and can impart good handleability to the dental material is an adamantane derivative represented by formula (1).
(In the formula, R1 to R5 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; m represents an integer of 0 to 10; and n represents an integer of 1 to 10.)
A dental composition containing the adamantane derivative is useful as a dental material such as a dental composite resin, a dental adhesive material, a dental cement and a dental primer.
