Abstract:

This air-leading type stratified scavenging two-cycle internal combustion engine is provided with an air passage 21 for supplying air to a scavenging passage 18 providing communication between a crank chamber 8 and a combustion chamber 6, at least one sensor 27 for detecting the operating condition of an engine 1, and a fuel valve 24 for controlling the supply of fuel to the air passage 21 on the basis of the detections by said at least one sensor 27, wherein the supply of fuel to the air passage 21 by the fuel valve 24 is controlled either outside the startup time and outside the idling time of the engine 1, or during startup or idling of the engine 1 and also at other times.
