Abstract:
Disclosed is an airbag that expands within the seating section of a vehicle seat, whereby the degree of design freedom with respect to the shape and height of the expanded airbag is enhanced. Specifically disclosed is an airbag device (1) provided with an airbag (10) and an inflator (2). The airbag (10) is disposed within the seating section of a seat and expands under a seated passenger. The inflator (2) expands and deploys the airbag (10) by generating gas. The airbag (10) comprises an top base fabric (11), a bottom base fabric (12) and a pair of side base fabrics (13) interconnected so as to partition off an air chamber (14) on the interior thereof. The pair of side base fabrics (13) are disposed between the top base fabric (11) and the bottom base fabric (12) in one region at the sides thereof so as to define the shape of the air chamber (14) when expanded.
