Abstract:
It is intended to provide an alcohol compound having a natural lily of the valley aroma but little woody smell, which restricts the utilization thereof as a starting material in preparing a fragrance, and a method of producing the same. An alcohol compound represented by the following general formula (I): (I) wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 hydrocarbon group; and any one of the dotted lines stands for a double bond while the three remainders stand for each a single bond.
